The Problem With Lip Balms
Lip balms have taken over the beauty industry, and I'm afraid I was the number one purchaser. I quite literally own every single lip product on the market, and I realized there was a common theme within all of them. Several had high shine but never helped my chapped and flaky lips. I would have to reapply every 30 minutes, which is a pain alone. So not only was I flying through products, none were addressing the issue. Dare I say the industry has prioritized high shine over functionality?! I mean, how unfair to the consumer who is seeking an alternative solution that's not Vaseline.
What I Set Out to Fix
As I'm the main consumer here, I wanted a product that was trendy like Summer Fridays and Rhode, but just as effective as a Vaseline or Aquaphor. I fought tooth and nail to achieve this. We are talking about 3 years of development, a manufacturer switch, and multiple hiccups in packaging with the tube and unit carton box.
The Formulation
Formulation was a one piece of the puzzle but effectiveness meant several pieces had to work together. We considered a few variations of ingredient pipeline. We ultimately ended up with ingredients known for two things: repair and hydration. As your lips are a super thin area, they're more prone to dryness . Cica helps stimulate collagen production and reduces inflammation. Pair this with Vitamin E, which protects against dryness and further damage. Repair without hydration just didn't make any sense, which is why we added Hyaluronic Acid and Glycerin.
Why the Texture Matters
Have you ever tried a lip product and it just sits at the surface, then disappears that’s what we wanted to avoid at all costs. Texture-wise, we ended up with a thicker consistency and viscosity. A thicker mask stays put for longer. On several occasions, I've woken up with the mask still on.
How to Use It
Cloud999 lip mask right before bed. you're essentially hydrating your lip barrier before your morning routine even starts. A little goes a long way since it's a thicker texture. Gently massage the lips when applying, and you're good to go.
You can also use it throughout the day if your lips feel too insanely dry and need deep hydration. It's also great to use before applying any additional lip products.

We launched this product several months back and the response was a bigger one than we could ever imagine. I get Dm’s from those who really struggle with eczema alongside those who admitted to never having luck with any product until they started incorporating ours in their routine.
It seems to me all of our efforts really paid off and we poured our all into product development. To see product helping our customers really shows us we are approaching production with the right mindset.
